Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Stockton, and I’ve never lived anywhere else. While I’ve loved growing up here, I’m considering moving to a new place in the future, though I don’t plan on going too far away.
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I’m 21 years old and currently live in Stockton, though I’m planning to explore new opportunities elsewhere soon. I’m an active person and enjoy playing sports like volleyball, basketball, and soccer. I also occasionally play bowling, and while I might joke about being bad at it, I’m actually pretty good! As for hobbies, I enjoy gardening when I have time, and I love cooking—especially when I’m hungry and trying out new recipes.
How did you first get involved in Digital Media?
When I was 11, I stumbled upon my first YouTube video, and I was immediately fascinated. I spent hours watching different types of videos, including storytelling, comedy, gaming, and music. As I watched more, I became interested in creating content myself. I wanted to make videos to entertain people, make them laugh, and share the kind of content that would capture their attention and put a smile on their faces.
How long have you been working in Digital Media?
Currently a student enrolled in San Joaquin Delta College, but I plan to transfer to either a State University or somewhere else, who knows.... oh wait I do.
What kinds of projects have you worked on in the past?
Well, I have been a part of 2 groups creating podcast episodes. The first group we made a NFR podcast episode
regarding how our city of Stockton is a media desert and how we can further improve ways for people to have access to their local news. I recorded my part in terms of how the interviews went, how important it is for people to get their news, and people can get access to the news whether it's local or global. AS for the second group, we created a Women's History Month Podcast Episode researching women musicians who've made an impact.
What skills do you have that you think are important in your work?
When it comes to projects and deadlines it can be stressful, but I try not to worry about it. I focus on the task at hand and keep a cool and calm mind. Working with a team is exciting, creating ideas and sharing it with each other to come up with a one cohesive plan.
What aspects of your work excite you the most, and how do you feel about the contributions you make?
While working on projects and meeting deadlines can be stressful, I try to stay focused and calm. I find the most excitement in collaborating with a team, brainstorming ideas, and combining them into one cohesive plan. The process of turning concepts into a finished product is rewarding, and I love being part of a team that creates something meaningful.
Is there anything else you'd like to share about yourself?
What? You want to know more about me? Well, if you must insist, I enjoy jogging for about 2 hours every 3 days each week. I'm a very quiet but observant person who tends to be more chill. I listen to pretty much any type of music, but the ones that impact me the most are R&B, rap, pop, and EDM. I enjoy going on long trips especially with friends and family and tend to record and take pictures a lot to capture certain scenes and whatever catches my eye.
